Sonar Tracker, MIS, Portal
Overview
This article explains how to invite a staff member to use Sonar Tracker on the JoinUp platform by sending them an invitation through Portal. You must invite staff members to use each product separately.
You can add multiple users in bulk to Sonar Tracker if you want to allocate them the same role for a product.
This article assumes your staff members have been automatically imported into Portal from your school's MIS using Wonde (or similar), or that your school uses Juniper's MIS.
Prerequisites
- You must be an Account Admin or Account Owner.
- The member of staff must have been added to your school's MIS with their work email address.
- The staff member's details must have been sent over to Juniper Portal from your school's MIS - new staff members are sent from your school's MIS to Juniper Portal overnight.
Instructions
To invite a member of staff to use Sonar Tracker through Portal:

Open Portal. Portal is the page that you land on when you log in and select Sonar Tracker. It will remain open in a background tab when Sonar Tracker is opened:
- Select User Invitations:
- Select Staff:

From User Invitations - Staff tab, select Invite Users.

From Invite Users, select Sonar Tracker as the Product that you want to invite the user(s) to use:

Select the role that you want to assign to the user(s) from Assign Role:

The Select Users pane updates to show a list of those staff members who are not currently users of the product you selected. Select one or more staff members to invite them:
If you can see staff names but cannot see the staff member you are looking for, please check whether they are pending Wonde approvals - Sonar Tracker: Why am I being asked to update my Wonde permissions?

Select Send Invitations.
To invite a user for other products or to assign other roles in bulk for Sonar Tracker, repeat Steps 3 to 7 for each product or role.
Outcome
A message confirming an invitation to use Sonar Tracker has been created for the selected staff members is displayed:
An email is sent to the selected staff members:
- If they are a new user of Juniper systems, the email will contain a link enabling them to accept the invitation online to access Sonar Tracker.
- If they are an existing user of other Juniper systems, they will receive an email explaining that they now have access to Sonar Tracker that will be made available to them next time they log in to Juniper Portal.
If the staff member is a new user, they have 14 days to sign up after receiving their invitation from the Portal. If they do not register within this period, they will need to be invited again. See Portal: How do I re-invite a staff member to register? for further information.
When you have finished sending invitations, close the web browser tab to return to Sonar Tracker.
