Sonar Tracker: Why am I being asked to update my Wonde permissions?

Overview

This article explains why you are being asked to update your school's Wonde permissions in Sonar Tracker.

You may have seen a banner in the User Management (School / Users) area asking you to update your Wonde permissions:

This is part of an upgrade to the Sonar Tracker login system. Updating your permissions has the following benefits:

  1. Two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect sensitive pupil data.
  2. Automatic user updates - user accounts link directly to your MIS, so if staff join or leave, their account access is updated automatically.

What you need to update

Some permission updates are required, while others are optional:

  • Required - you must update permissions to include staff details so that Sonar Tracker user accounts can be managed.
  • Optional - you can update permissions for Contacts, for example, parents and carers if you want to use Comms Hub or share observations recorded in Sonar Tracker with parents.

If you do not see the banner above when you view your user list and are not being asked for two-factor authentication in Sonar Tracker, your account has not been upgraded yet.
