Sonar Tracker: Why are my Nursery Pupils not showing in Sonar?

Overview

This article explains how pupils are managed for Juniper products, including Sonar Tracker and why they may not be showing.

Pupil and staff records are stored in the Juniper Portal, most often imported from your MIS via a Wonde link.

If you have pupils not showing in Sonar, please refer to the following guidance;

Prerequisites

Pupils need to be in your MIS with a start date and UPN (Unique Pupil Number)

DfE guidance re UPNs

The guidance states that, 'UPNs are allocated at the point of a pupil’s first entry into the state funded school sector. This is usually when a pupil joins a nursery or primary school (including joining nursery classes in a primary school).'

Solution

Either;

  • If your nursery provision is state funded, allocate each pupil a UPN, or
  • If your nursery provision is such that it is inappropriate for pupils to have a UPN, our advice is to allocate temporary UPNs

Sonar Tracker: How do I get support?

Outcome

The next overnight sync will import them into portal and then they will show in Sonar Tracker.
