Overview
This article explains how to view a detailed list of pupils who are categorised in the Approaching Persistent absent band (whose absence for the current academic year is between 5% and 10% / attendance is below 90% to 95%) using the Absence Bandings report.
Instructions
Opening the Absence Bandings report
Open the Absence Bandings report:
- From the Absence Bandings Widget in the Attendance Dashboard, select View Report:
- From elsewhere in the Juniper MIS:
- Select Reports.
- Select Attendance.
- Select Absence Bandings.
Filter the Absence Bandings report
The Absence Bandings report opens. It summarises the number of pupils within a series of percentage bands, along with the percentage of pupils in each band, and the status of each band:
- Select Filters to view the specific pupils:

Apply filters of your choice to narrow the absence banding details displayed:
As required, check Exclude Current Non-Statutory Age Pupils to remove pupils who are of non-statutory age from the analysis. By default this is unchecked.
View the pupils within a Persistently Absent band
Select the 5% to less than 10% Absence Rate Band (where the Status is Approaching):
Outcome
A list of pupils within the selected band is displayed, including their Year Group and Overall Absence percentage for the academic year-to-date.
Select a pupil to view their attendances / absence record that makes up their part of their pupil record:
