This article explains how to add / update attendance / absence-related information on an ad hoc basis using the Office Register, for example, when chasing up unauthorised individual pupil absence, or when you are advised of short term, known future absences for an individual pupil, for example, a medical appointment.
To record extended periods of future known absence, or to bulk fill absences for one or more pupils, see MIS: How do I make bulk updates to registers?
To record the Attendance Patterns that define the typical way one or more pupils attend school, see MIS: How do I add / edit an Attendance Pattern for one or more pupils?
