Following changes that have been made to your homepage, changes may not appear to be made instantly or they may be displayed incorrectly because of caching.
What is caching?
Caching is a process that helps your web browser load websites faster by storing pieces of information from the sites you visit, like images and data. When you revisit a site, your browser uses this information instead of downloading everything again to speed the process up. However, sometimes the cache can hold onto an old version of a webpage, causing you to see outdated content. Press CTRL + F5 to clear old data and let your browser load the most up-to-date version.
Why is refreshing the cache important?
When changes are made to the site, you might still see an old or partially scrambled version of it because your network or device may be caching the previous version of the site. To resolve this, press CTRL + F5 to load the latest version of the site (you may need to do this multiple times).
What if CTRL + F5 doesn’t work?
If you’ve tried refreshing but the old version is still showing, check the site on a different network, for example, your home Wi-Fi or by using mobile data. If the updates are visible there, but not on your school network, the cache on the school network might need resetting. Contact your school's IT team to help.
When should I contact Juniper Education Support?
