Juniper Websites: Why am I getting a HTTP error?

Overview

This article explains how to troubleshoot HTTP errors and try to work out why you are getting the error message. This happens when uploading content to your website, for example, file attachments from the bottom of a page, files in File Manager or images in News Articles or Galleries.

Step-by-step troubleshooting

  1. Check Juniper Websites: Status Updates to see if others are experiencing a similar problem. If they are, you will see an update explaining the steps we are taking to investigate and resolve the issue.
  2. Check the size of the file you are trying to upload. If it is large it may cause an HTTP error (For more information about file size limits, see Juniper Websites: What are the file size limits?).
  3. Check your internet connection speed. If it is too slow, your file may fail to upload. You should consider trying a different network, for example, using your mobile data if you have a fast connection, to see if the file uploads.
  4. If you are having problems uploading onto one page, for example, the home page, try uploading your content onto a different page to see if that works. If it does, contact us.
  5. Try to upload to your website using a different device. It may be that your computer/tablet/mobile phone is stopping you from successfully uploading. Contact your school's IT Support team to investigate further.
  6. If you are uploading from your school network, try to upload from another network, for example, using your mobile data. If the problem only happens on your school network, contact us so we can add your IPV4 (IP) address as a trusted IP on the website to see if this allows you to upload the document. Visit www.whatismyip.com to find out what your IPV4 (IP) address is. If this doesn't help, you should contact your school's IT Support team to investigate this further.
  7. If none of the above helps contact us. When you contact us, provide a screenshot of the error and details of any steps you have taken to troubleshoot. This will help us to investigate the problem faster and provide you with a solution.
