When viewing PDF documents in your web browser, a title is displayed:
This title is inherited from the original document when it was created.
If you use the same Word document as a template for multiple PDFs, it's crucial to update the title before converting the Word document into a PDF.
The only way to update the title of a PDF is by editing its document properties and subsequently re-uploading it to your website.
Prerequisites
You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader or Microsoft Word installed on your device.
Instructions
Select the appropriate tab to find out how to change the title of a PDF in either Adobe Acrobat Reader or Microsoft Word:

- Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Navigate to File > Properties to view and edit the added title.

- Right-click the PDF file.
- Select Open with.
- Select Word.
- Select OK to open the document in Microsoft Word.
- Select File > Info:
- Select the Properties dropdown on the right.
- Select Advanced Properties:
- Replace the title
- Select OK.
- Save the document as a PDF.
- Upload the new version of the file to your website.
Outcome
The PDF title will be updated. When a viewer opens the PDF file an appropriate title will be displayed.
