Sisra Analytics: How do I set up Sisra Data Collaboration? (Admin)

Overview

This article explains how to set up the Sisra Data Collaboration for your school. This enters your school's anonymised data into the Data Collaboration and lets you publish your reports with the Collaboration report features.

Your school may be able to benefit from the Data Collaboration analysis in reports even if you do not report to the DfE. For further information, see Sisra Analytics: Can we use Data Collaboration even though our school doesn't report to the DfE? (Admin).

Prerequisites

You must have opted into the latest Data Collaboration event. To do this, open CONFIG > Data Collaboration, read the guidance on the page, then select Exams next to the latest Cohort:

We recommend opting in for the two most recent cohorts as a minimum.

Instructions

Follow these steps to set up the Sisra Data Collaboration in Sisra Analytics:

  • To map your key filters:

    1. Select DATA.
    2. Select Key Stage 3/4 and Cohort.
    3. Select Students.
    4. Select Key Filter Mapping:

This is only available after you have opted in. It is available for Leavers through to current Year 10 cohorts.

    5. Repeat the following steps for each filter (Disadvantaged, Gender, and SEN):
      1. Select the Sisra Key Filter.
      2. Select the appropriate option to map your key filters (see Sisra Analytics: KS3/4 - How do I set up Key Filter Mapping? (Admin) for further information):

The DfE define Disadvantaged as students classed as FSM Ever6, Looked After, or left care through adoption or another court order. This can differ from Pupil Premium (which includes Armed Forces students), so you may need to create a new filter for Disadvantaged.

      3. Select Save.
    6. Select Students.
    7. Select Publish Students.
    8. Select Publish.
  • If you do not report to the DfE, or do not wish to set up alternate KS2 baselines in the 24/25 and 25/26 cohorts, go to Step 3 - Matching. If you do want to do either this or do report to the DfE:

    1. Select DATA.
    2. Select Key Stage 3/4 and Cohort.
    3. Select KS2/EAP.
    4. Select Baselines.
    5. Ensure the official KS2 subjects for the cohort are correctly nominated in the Core column. For cohorts 20/21 and later, nominate English Reading and Maths Scaled Scores.
    6. Select Publish KS2/EAP.
    7. Review the contents of the Health tab. Any issues highlighted must be resolved before publishing. See Sisra Analytics: Baseline Management - How do I fix baseline setup warnings in KS3/4? (Admin) for further guidance.
    8. Select Publish

The 24/25 and 25/26 cohorts did not receive any official KS2 scores due to the Exams Cancellations when they were in Year 6. However we have put together a simple conversion method which allows you to produce KS2 Scaled Scores retrospectively for these students. See the KS2 Scaled Score Generation for 2024/25 Cohort webinar for further information.

For further information, see Sisra Analytics: KS3/4 - Preparing and uploading KS2 Core Baselines (Admin).

  • To complete Matching:

    1. Select DATA.
    2. Select Key Stage 3/4 and Cohort.
    3. Select Grades.
    4. Select Matching.
    5. Ensure that all your current qualifications which are marked to include are matched to their official QN codes, with no issues flagged in the DC Exams Check column. This is indicated at the top of the page:
    6. If you have not matched your qualifications to QN codes:
      1. Select Edit
      2. For each unmatched qualification:
        1. Toggle Use QN to Yes.
        2. Enter the official QN code or title into QN Title.
      3. Select Save Changes

Any issues are highlighted in DC Exams Check. These must be checked and resolved to ensure all officially awarded grades are allocated the correct performance points. For further information, see Sisra Analytics: KS3/4 - Completing the Matching page (Admin).

  • When you have your final Exam grades, upload them into the Exams data set:

    1. Select DATA.
    2. Select Key Stage 3/4 and Cohort.
    3. Select Grades.
    4. Select Uploads.
    5. Select Exams.
    6. Select Upload Grade File and upload the file. See Sisra Analytics: How do I upload Standalone Grades? (Admin) for further information.
    7. Select Grades.

    After uploading the Exams grades:

    1. Select Grades Management.
    2. Select Manage Datasets.
    3. Select Exams
    4. Check for any warning icons and resolve accordingly. See Sisra Analytics: How do I resolve file health check issues when uploading grades? (Admin) for further guidance.

  • To publish your reports:

    1. Select Grades.
    2. Select Publish Grades.
    3. Select Publish next to the appropriate dataset /assessment.
    4. When publishing grades, toggle Data Collaboration on and select the appropriate event to include collaboration report features:

Outcome

You have successfully set up the Sisra Data Collaboration for your school. You can use the Collaboration report features and compare your school's performance with that of similar schools across the country before the DfE official figures are released.
