When your school signed up to use Sonar Tracker you joined as either a manual school or an MIS controlled school.
If you opted to be a manual school, Sonar Tracker will not be joined to your school's MIS. This means that it is unable to synchronise data automatically. Instead, you will export data from your MIS into Sonar Tracker, and manually create any new additional data within Sonar Tracker.
If you opted to be an MIS controlled school, Wonde Sync is used to synchronise your Sonar Tracker content with your MIS. This happens overnight, every night, meaning that any changes made within the MIS will be seen the following day within Sonar Tracker. During the summer holidays, the MIS synchronisation process is paused to prevent any roll-up issues at the start of the new academic year. The system synchronises the following MIS data:
- Pupil data (including contextual data):
- UPN.
- Name.
- Date of Birth.
- School entry date.
- Class.
- Gender.
- Ethnicity.
- First Language.
- Pupil premium.
- Free school meals.
- Service children.
- Children in care.
- SEN.
- SEN - Need.
- Leaver data.
- Pupil groups.
- Class groups.
- All assessment data for pupils.
- Target data.
- Staff member details.
The speed of the synchronise process, as a rule-of-thumb, it takes approximately 2-3 minutes for a school that has 500-600 pupils.
If at any point in the future, your school changes its MIS provider, all you need to do is contact Wonde who will ensure the connection is swapped to the school's new MIS provider and maintained with Sonar Tracker on your behalf.
