Sonar Tracker

Overview

This article explains how to download your Key Stage 2 tests, import the results into Sonar Tracker and then view them in reports. 

This article is only relevant if you use stand-alone Sonar Tracker and have not yet migrated to the integrated version. If you don't know which version of Sonar Tracker you are using, see Sonar Tracker: Which version of Sonar Tracker am I using?

To check whether your 2025/6 KS2 data is in Sonar Tracker go to Assessments / Statutory Assessments / End of Key Stage Two.

Prerequisites

• You must be an Account Admin or Account Owner by default.

Downloading results as a CTF from the National Curriculum Assessment Portal

Go to the NCA Portal and download your results as a CTF file. Accessing and Downloading the CTF

Importing your CTF into Sonar Tracker

Follow these instructions to import your KS2 test results:

1. Select School.
2. Select the Send a file to Sonar widget to open your device's file management software and select the results CTF to upload (or drag the results CTF file you want to upload onto the widget):
   
3. The system will detect the file contents and display the details. Check KS2:
   
4. Select Upload and process file. Files are processed every 15 minutes so it shouldn't be too long before you see the raw scores in Assess > Statutory Assessments > KS2.

Where scaled scores are included in the CTF these will be imported into Sonar. Where these are unavailable or raw scores are entered manually, these will be converted to scaled scores once the conversion tables have been programmed into the software (available to us after 9am so programmed shortly after). We will confirm once this is complete on the Sonar Tracker: Status updates page.

Outcomes

Select Assessments / Statutory Assessments / End of Key Stage Two and select year group or class to see the results of your import. Where scaled scores are available in the CTF these will be imported. Where these are unavailable these will be calculated from the raw scores once the conversion tables have been programmed into the software.

Reporting KS2 Outcomes

1. Select the End of Key Stage 2 Outcomes Report to show the percentage of pupils at and above in each subject as well as the school's combined percentage.

2. Select the Statutory Dashboard in the Analysis tab

3. Select the Assessment Conversion Matrix Report to compare the KS2 data with the KS1 Outcomes for the pupils. When using this report for select KS2 Tests as the From option.
