Prerequisites

  • To use Sonar Tracker's Observations functionality, in addition to a Sonar Tracker subscription, you must subscribe to either the Observations Module or the Parent Engagement Bundle (this includes the Observations Module and the Awards & Activities module).

Instructions

  1. Select Observations to open the Observations page:
  2. If prompted, select the year groups and/or classes for the pupils you wish to observe (you can select more than one of each as needed) then select Open Observations:
  3. Select Tag Pupils to create a new observation with the Tag pupil open:
  4. Select the pupil(s) to add to the observation (deselect them to remove them from the observation).
  5. Optionally, add a photograph, enter a description of what you've observed, add a subject, and tag one or more observations.
  6. Select Save Draft to come back to finish recording your observation, or select Publish.
  7. Select Publish to publish a finalised version of the observation. When prompted, select the audience from the two choices, then select Publish:

When you create your observation, the pupils available for selection in the Tag Pupils tab is controlled by the year or class group(s) that you have previously selected. Uncheck Filter by class/year to view all pupils in your school. When you check Filter by class/year the list returns to your previous year/class selection.

When saved as a draft, your observation will be stored in the My Drafts tab of the Observation feed:

When published, your observation will be stored in the Published tab of the Observation feed:
