MIS: How do I update school meal selections for pupils or staff?

Overview

This article explains how office staff can manually enter school meals for pupils or staff using the appropriate tab in the Meals Log. You may want to do this to override values entered by the teacher in the class register (see MIS: How do I record or update today's pupil meal choices in the class register?) or to update values automatically set using meal plans (see MIS: How do I set a default meal plan for pupils? and MIS: How do I set a default meal plan for staff?).

Instructions

Open Meal Log

From Juniper MIS:

  1. Select Manage.
  2. Select School Meals.
  3. Select Meals.

Update / enter school meals

From the Meal Log:

  1. Make sure that you have selected the appropriate tab (Pupil or Staff). By default, the Pupil tab opens when you open the Meal Log. Select the Staff tab as required:

  2. Navigate to appropriate week where you want to enter the meal choice, using the date picker, or the < and > arrows:
  3. Locate the pupil or staff member whose meal choice you want to update either visually by scanning down the list, using the filters and search bar in the case of pupils, or the search bar for staff members (as needed):

  4. For each pupil or staff member's meal that you want to update,repeat these steps:

    1. Select the meal type.
    2. Select the new meal type.
    3. Select the check / tick button.

Outcome

Your changes are automatically saved. The meal is updated and the change is indicated showing arrows pointing left and right:
