Sonar Tracker: How do I set my Primary end of year projections?

Sonar Tracker

Overview

This article explains how to set Primary end-of-year projections for your pupils from within the Primary Projection Pathway page.

An End of Year Projection is where a pupil is likely to end up. It's a prediction that takes into account a pupil's current and past performance, their past results, the speed at which they are improving, and any teacher assessment.

It is reactive and may change throughout the year. For example, if a pupil works hard, their projection could increase. Meanwhile, if they put in less effort, it could drop.

Instructions

To set your Primary end of year projections in Sonar Tracker:

  1. Select Assessments.
  2. Select Primary Projection Pathway within the Targets area:

  3. When prompted:
    1. Select one or more Year Groups and / or Classes for which you wish to enter test results.
    2. Select Open Assessment.
  4. From the Primary Projection Pathway, optionally select any filters as required.
  5. Select the Subject where you want to enter the end-of-year projections:

  6. For each pupil:
    1. Review their assessments listed in the table and determine what their end of year projection should be.
    2. Roll over the Projection cell, then select it:
    3. Select the appropriate end-of-year projection code for the pupil or select View All Codes.

If you selected View All Codes, select the end of year projection code from those displayed the pupil. This allows you to set an end-of-year projection code if the pupil is working at a different level to their current year group:

To save time, bulk fill end of year projection codes for multiple pupils and manually overwrite the outliers. To do this, selecting the ellipsis next to Projection, select Bulk Fill, then select the end of year projection code you want to assign to all pupils:

Outcome

The end of year projection code is assigned to the pupil(s) for the subject. A message is displayed confirming that the projection is saved:

End of year projections can be viewed in the Primary Flight Path and Primary Triangulation of Data Analysis reports.
