Sonar Tracker: How do I enable / disable automatic approval of Sonar Tracker observations?

Overview

This article explains how to enable/disable the automatic approval of Sonar Tracker observations. When observations are automatically approved, they are published without requiring manual approval. A user with the appropriate permissions must approve the observation publication when automatic approval is disabled.

Changing automatic observation approval settings (either enabling or disabling) will affect the approval of all observations in the system, no matter their type or source.

Prerequisites

You must have one of the following user roles / permissions to enable / disable observation automatic approval: Account owner, Account Admin or Full Edit.

Instructions

In Comms Hub, to enable / disable the automatic approval of all observations:

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Select Interactions.
  3. Select Approvals:

  4. Set the Automatic Approvals Status for Observations:
    • Toggle off (default) to disable automatic approval.
    • Toggle on to enable automatic approval.

Outcome

Your changes are saved, and a settings update message is displayed:

When Sonar Tracker observations are automatically approved, there is no need for a user with the appropriate permissions to approve their publication. When informal observation automatic approvals are disabled, auser with the appropriate permissions must approve the publication of informal observations.
