MIS: How do I access a pupil profile?

Overview

This article explains how to search in the All Pupil page of the Juniper MIS for a specific pupil and open their profile / record on the Overview tab.

Instructions

Follow these steps to access a pupil profile:

  1. Select Pupils.
  2. Select All Pupils.
  3. Locate the pupil whose profile you want to view (use the search bar or filters to speed up this process as appropriate).
  4. Select the pupil's Full Name to open their profile:

On many pages within the MIS, select a pupil's Full Name, to open their profile, without navigating through All Pupils.

Outcome

The pupil's record / profile is displayed on their Overview tab:

From here you can:

  1. View the pupil's summary card containing key information about the pupil.
  2. Quickly view medical notes and emergency contact details from the summary card.
  3. Select Actions to quickly access any shortcuts available to you relating to the pupil, for example, to process them as a leaver, or create a CTF file comprising their information.
  4. Select the tabs on the left of the page to navigate through the various parts of the pupil's profile.
  5. Access the various widgets that provide information about a pupil's attendance, behaviour and notes in, so you can see their current status without opening each section separately:
    1. Attendance. This widget shows content based on the pupil's current status. If the pupil is present, you see their recent absences and a confirmation that no absence period is currently open. If the pupil is absent, you see the current absence, their attendance percentage, the absence codes recorded, and the latest absence note. A day in progress isn't counted as a full absence until the PM session ends, so the duration shown can change during the day. If the pupil is late, the minutes late are shown, although this still counts as present in the attendance percentage. Select Log Attendance to record attendance from this widget, or select View more to open the pupil's full attendance record.
    2. Behaviour. This widget shows Total Incidents, Positive and Negative points, and Avg points, for the pupil regardless of attendance status. Select Log Incident to record a new behaviour incident, or select View more to open their full behaviour record.
    3. Notes. This widget shows the pupil's most recent notes, or No data to display where none have been added. Select Add New to add a note to the pupil's record, or select View more to see all notes recorded for them.
    4. Penalty notice. This widget only appears when a pupil has 7 or more unauthorised sessions, so you know when a penalty notice may need to be considered.
