MIS: How do I record a pupil's SEND details?

Overview

This article explains how to capture a pupil's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) details in their pupil record. The details recorded include whether the pupil has an Individualised Education Plan (IEP), whether additional funding is provided based on their needs, their specific SEN, any SEN provisions in place for them, and any details relating to disabilities as required. 

Prerequisites

  • You must have the appropriate permissions assigned to your Juniper account to edit pupil records. 

Instructions

To record a pupil's SEND details:

  1. Locate, then open the pupil's record ready for editing (see MIS: How do I edit a pupil record?).
  2. Select the SEND tab:
  3. Select Edit to update the record:
  4. Work through the SEN details listed, adding in details of any SEN History (in terms of needs and codes, and start / end dates):
  5. Where a pupil has an Individualised Education Plan (IEP), check Individualised Education Plan.
  6. Where the pupil is a member of the SEN Unit, check Member of SEN Unit Indicator.
  7. Where the pupil is a member of the Resourced Provision, check Member of Resourced Provision Indicator.
  8. Where top-up funding is provided for the pupil based on their needs, check Top-Up Funding Indicator.
  9. When completed, scroll back to the top of the page and select Save.

Outcome

The pupil's SEND details are recorded and their record updated with any changes:

A confirmation message is displayed:

Their SEND details are highlighted at the top of their pupil record:

The record can be amended / edited as needed, by selecting Edit.

To remove a SEN Provision, SEN Need or Disability, select Edit then select Delete.

To add another SEN Provision, SEN Need or Disability, select Edit, then select Add, completing the details as needed.
