MIS: How do I take my class attendance register?

  • Updated

Overview

This article explains how to find and take your registers, including statutory morning and afternoon attendance registers.

As a teacher, when you take your register, do not project it, as pupils can see any notes you make.

Instructions

Find the register

  1. From Home, find your Schedule for the day:

  2. Locate your Class within the Schedule:
  3. Select Manage next to the class:

Take the register

From the Attendance view:

  1. For each pupil, select whether they are present, absent, or late:
    • Select the check icon to mark the pupil as present.
    • Select the cross icon to mark the pupil as absent.
    • Select the clock icon to mark the pupil as late.

Only mark a pupil as late if the registration session is still open when they arrive in school.

  2. If you mark the pupil as absent and have any additional information about the absence, add a note for the office when they are chasing up:
  3. If you mark the pupil as late:
    1. When prompted, select the number of minutes that the pupil is late.
    2. Enter the reason the pupil was late in the notes.
  4. After completing for all pupils, select Save.

To speed up taking your register, select Mark All as Present or Mark All as Absent, depending on whether most pupils are present / absent, then manually override any exceptions.

If you want to hid school meals from your register, select Hide Meals. Your choice will become the default setting when opening your register in the future. To view meals again, select Show Meals
