Sonar Tracker: How do I enter Statutory Phonics scores?

Overview

This article explains how to enter your Phonics data into Sonar Tracker.

Assessment data should only be manually entered into one system. From that system, it should be electronically exported and imported into other systems. As a school, you must decide whether to enter your Phonics data manually into Sonar Tracker, and then export it into your MIS or vice versa. If your school has chosen to enter Phonics data into your MIS, go to Sonar Tracker: How do I import Statutory Data from a CTF?

Instructions

  1. Select Assess.
  2. From the Statutory Assessments pane, select Phonics Tests:
  3. Select the Year Group and/or Class of your choice:

  4. Select Load Assessments - the Phonics Test page opens with separate columns for Year 1 and Year 2 data:
  5. To enter an individual pupil's assessment, select the appropriate cell*.
  6. Enter the pupil's assessment, between 0 and 40 (or one of A,D, L and Q).
  7. Select another cell.

* If you'd prefer to bulk fill assessment results, see Sonar Tracker: How do I bulk fill data?

Outcome

The pupil's assessment result is recorded and a green Saved indicator is displayed when one of the codes above is used.

If an invalid value is entered, the assessment cell will turn red and will not be saved:

Select the exclamation mark icon to view permitted values:

When you enter lots of data, make sure the green Saved indicator continues to display. Issues such as poor internet may prevent saving. If the data does not save check your internet connection.

Reporting Phonics Outcomes

This data will show in the Statutory Dashboard in the Analysis tab (This report is updated overnight so will reflect any changes made the following day)
