Sonar Tracker: How can I customise the formative content in my Sonar account?

Overview

This article explains the process for customising the formative content (objectives) that is displayed in Sonar Tracker.

The default formative content that is displayed in Sonar Tracker is the Sonar Curriculum. Developed by our education specialists this provides the appropriate coverage of key subjects for primary-aged pupils.

We appreciate that schools may want to create and add their formative content to Sonar Tracker, to make the system more specific to your school.

Instructions

To add your formative content in Sonar Tracker:

  1. Read the information and guidance on this page.
  2. Download the template at the bottom of this page.
  3. Populate the template with your content using the guidance below.
  4. Send us the completed template so we can upload it to your account.

Formative content customisation cost

The cost of the formative content customisation is £160 + VAT*. Your school will be invoiced once the work has been completed.

We can upload multiple subjects/objectives from a single template, therefore, in the interest of saving you money we recommend you try to make all changes at once as each extra upload will incur the £160 + VAT charge.

Template Headings

The customisation template is made up of the following headings:

Checklist before sending us your template

Before sending us your template, make sure:

    1. All subjects are included in one template.

Use a separate template for each curriculum; EYFS / Primary

    2. All rows have the Subject and Strand(s) included.
    3. Strand labels are consistent. If you filter the spreadsheet and choose the drop-down menu from Subjects you can choose one subject at a time and then, from Strand you will see if someone has used Animals, including Humans and 'Animals including Humans which the program will see as two separate strands, so will need editing:

It is your responsibility to check for spelling mistakes and errors as the template will not be checked for these by our team. Correcting errors once the upload has been completed will mean that any assessments made against the objectives will be archived and may incur additional charges

If you are wanting to edit the objectives you already have, we currently have to upload a new objective set for that subject(s). We will need a new template from you that includes all of the objectives you wish to see in the software whether you are editing them or not. This will show as a new set for this subject(s) – assessments made against the current set will not show here even if they are the same.
We are gathering feedback regarding how useful you would find being able to add / edit objectives yourself. Please add your support and comments here - Objectives Customisation – Have an idea?

Sending your spreadsheet template

After populating the template, submit a support request with the file attached. We will check this and ask any questions we have before sending you an agreement form to sign and then uploading your objectives to your account.
