MIS
Overview
This article explains how to leave a staff member out of the School Workforce census. Use it for people who work in your school but must not appear in your return, for example volunteers or external staff.
Every staff record has an Include in Census checkbox. It is checked by default. When you uncheck it, that person is left out of the School Workforce census.
Prerequisites
- You must have the appropriate permissions assigned to your Juniper account to edit staff records.
Exclude an existing staff member
Follow these steps to leave a staff member out of the census:
- Go to Staff / All Staff.
- Locate the staff member in the list.
- Select the staff member's Full Name to open their record.
- Select the Personal Details tab.
- Select Edit.
- Next to System Status, uncheck Include in Census.
- Select Save.
A message confirms that your changes are saved. The staff member is now left out of the School Workforce census.

Follow these steps to leave a new staff member out of the census from the start:
- Go to Staff / All Staff.
- Select Create.
- Enter the staff member's details. For more information, see MIS: How do I add a staff member?.
