Troubleshoot school-level user management

JoinUp

Overview

If you are looking to troubleshoot MAT-level user management problems rather than those at a school-level, see Troubleshoot MAT-level user management.

Managing users is a two-step process:

  1. Creating staff users (this is either automatically synced via Wonde or manually created using Juniper MIS).
  2. Inviting staff users to a product (and manage their roles and permissions in Portal).

If your school's third-party MIS connects to Wonde, we recommend using this connection. Wonde automatically syncs your staff records into Juniper MIS overnight, so leavers, movers and joiners are kept up to date with minimal effort on our systems. This also removes the manual creation of school staff users (Step 1 above).

If your school doesn't connect via Wonde because you haven't approved a Wonde connection or you use Juniper MIS as your Management Information System, you add and update staff records directly in Juniper MIS instead.

Either way, after the staff record has been created, you must invite the member of staff to each Juniper Education product they need using Portal’s Invitation workflow.

Articles concerning this workflow can be found in the School-level user management section of the Help Centre.

However, if you are having issues, use the guidance below to solve common school-level problems.
