MIS: Where can I see changes made to my dynamic group?

Overview

This article explains how to view changes made automatically to:

All your dynamic groups through the dashboard.
A specific dynamic group through its group History tab.

Prerequisites

For updates to a dynamic group to show in the dashboard, Group Membership Dashboard Alerts must have been checked when the group was configured, or Follow must have been selected when viewing the group.

Instructions

Dashboard widget

Follow these steps to see changes made to all dynamic groups that you follow using the Dashboard widget:
1. Select Home.
2. Scroll down the page to the Dynamic Group Membership dashboard widget.
From the dynamic group

Follow these steps to view changes to a specific dynamic group:
1. Select Group.
2. Select All Custom Groups.
3. Select Dynamic Groups.
4. Select the group where you want to view changes.
5. Select the History tab.

Outcome

Regardless of which way you choose to view the information, you will be able to quickly see which pupils have joined / left your dynamic group(s):

Dashboard widget

Changes to all dynamic groups that you follow are displayed in the Recent History. The number of changes are indicated next to the names of the tabs within the widget:

To view changes to specific dynamic groups, select the horizontal ellipsis, then select the specific group(s):

Select the Recent Joiners or Recent Leavers tabs to filter the changes by whether pupils have been dynamically added or removed from the group:
From the dynamic group

Changes to the dynamic group are displayed in the History tab: The number of changes are indicated next to the names of the tabs within the widget:
1. The Group Start Date contains the date that the pupil was added to the group.
2. The Group End Date contains the date that the pupil was removed from the group.
3. The Group Status indicates if the pupil is a Former or Current member of the group.
