MIS: How do I edit / update a group?

Overview

This article explains how to edit / update a group within Juniper MIS. It explains how to update group details and manage pupils and staff .

Prerequisites

  • You must have Partial Edit, Full Edit, Account Admin or Account Owner permissions to edit / update a group.
  • You must have created a group (see MIS: How to I add / create a group?) / have access to edit the group.
  • You must be a staff member allocated the role of Group owner or Group editor.

Instructions

Follow these steps to make changes to a group:

Locate, and open the group

To view a list of groups, locate a group and open it from within the Juniper MIS:

  1. Select Groups to open All Groups:
  2. Optionally, to narrow your search, select Classes, Year Groups or one of the Custom Group options from the side menu if you know the type of group you are searching for.
  3. Locate the group you want to edit from the list, using search as required:
  4. Select the group to open it:

Edit/update the group

To edit / update the group:

  1. From within the group, select the tab for the details that you want to change as required.

  2. Based on the tab you selected, make your changes:
    1. For Basic Details:
      1. Select Edit.
      2. Make any changes to the Name or Description (other changes are not permitted).
      3. Select Save.
    2. For Pupils:

      1. Select Add or Remove pupils  as required.
      2. Select the pupil(s) to add or remove. 
      3. When removing pupil(s), select a Leave Date.
      4. Select Add Pupils or Remove Pupils
      5. When removing pupil(s), select Confirm to confirm that you want to remove the pupil(s).

    3. For Staff:

      1. Select Edit.
      2. To add a member of staff, select the name of the Staff Member and their Role in Group.
      3. To add further staff member, select Add then repeat the previous step. 
      4. To remove a staff member from the group, select Delete next to their name.
      5. After making your changes, select Save.

Outcome

Any changes that you make are saved. A record of all changes made are recorded. Review these in the Audit Log tab:
