Outcome
This article explains how to quickly compare your official KS4 exam results with other reports for the same cohort, for example, their targets, using the Compare dropdown in the Dataset tab.
Prerequisites
Your administrator must have published any reports you want to compare.
Instructions
Follow these steps to open your exams report and compare it with another report:
- Select REPORTS.
- Select KS3/4.
- Select a Cohort.
- Select a Data Set.
- Select Whole Cohort.

From the Dataset tab, select a report to compare with your exams report in Compare:
Grade comparisons will only be available if the same Grade Method and Qualification are in use across both reports.
Outcome
Depending on the report used for comparison, your report is updated with additional rows and columns displaying the figures from the selected dataset and the difference between the two. Values are colour coded to indicate whether performance has increased or decreased.
The following reports are useful when comparing results:

Headlines Area > Summary (to compare overall school performance measures):

Grades Area > Overview (to see how your qualifications performed compared with other reports):

Grades Area > Totals (to see the number/percentage of grades greater than, equal to or less than your other report grades):

Grades Area > Grade List (to check individual student performance in a qualification):
Sort by Grade Points (Diff) in the Grades List to see students with the biggest points difference between Exams and the compared report.

Grades Area > Comparison Matrix (to compare grade counts or percentages for a qualification, between Exams and other reports):
