Juniper Websites: How do I allow other sites to share news with my website?

Overview

This article explains how to let other schools' Juniper Websites share their news content with your website. When enabled, news sharing displays articles from other websites alongside your updates. As you configure this feature, you can also select whether you prefer to approve articles from other sites before they are published and select a user to be the reviewer.

Prerequisites

Turn on shared news content

Follow these steps to allow other sites to share news with your website:

  1. Select Website.
  2. Select Settings.

  3. Select Website Settings:

  4. In the left-hand list, scroll down to the bottom and select Shared Content:

  5. Under Do you want other sites to share news to your site?, select Yes, then select Choose location(s):

Follow these steps to set the category shared news and events appear in.

  1. From Select News Category, select Expand All to see all categories:

  2. Select one or more (as available) News Categories where you would like the shared content to be posted: 

    Press CTRL when clicking on News Categories to select more than one.

  3. Select Select to confirm your chosen categories.

Set up approval for shared content

You can choose whether to review shared news before it appears on your website:

  1. Under Do you want to approve news from the connected site?, select Yes to review content first, or No to let it appear automatically:

  2. If you selected Yes, select a reviewer from the Please select a reviewer list:

  3. Select Save.

Outcome

A confirmation message is displayed advising that your changes are saved:

Shared news content appears in the category you chose the next time a linked site shares an update.
