Overview
This article explains how to edit / update the attendance colour bandings used in JoinUp. Threshold-based attendance colour bandings are used to determine the background colour used to highlight attendance levels using a set of rules when displayed. A default set of seven values are enabled in the system; however, you can configure, add, and remove bands and associated colours to align with your school's needs.
Default attendance colour bandings
Attendance Rule Colour Attendance is greater than 99% Dark Green Greater than, or equal to 97% Green Greater than, or equal to 96% Light Green Greater than, or equal to 95% Yellow Greater than, or equal to 90% Orange Greater than, or equal to 85% Red Less than 85% Dark Red
Prerequisites
- This feature is only available to Full MIS customers.
- Your user permissions must be Account Owner, Account Admin or Full Edit to access this feature.
Instructions
Follow these steps in the MIS to edit / update the attendance colour bandings:
- Select Settings.
- Select Institution.
- Select the Attendance Colour Bandings tab:
- From Attendance Colour Bandings tab, select Edit:
- From the Edit screen, make your changes / additions / deletions as required:
- Change the Operator from the list available:
- Less than (<).
- Less than or Equal to (<=).
- Greater than (>).
- Greater than or Equal to (>=).
- Equal to (=).
- Select new Threshold Values (to two decimal places).
- Select new colours.
- Select Add to add new rows, then complete as required.
- Select Delete to remove redundant rows (for example if you want to simplify the colour scale). When you select delete, the row will be removed without any confirmation.
- Select Reset Defaults to return the attendance colour bandings to the system default values.
- Change the Operator from the list available:
- Select Save. Your changes will be checked to ensure that there are no gaps or overlaps are found, all values are valid and complete and there are no duplicates. If errors are detected, they will be indicated on screen. Make any changes required, then save again.
Outcome
You will be returned to the Attendance Colour Bandings tab where your changes have been applied:
The attendance colour bandings are update across the MIS to align with the colours that you have set. For example, in the pupil record:
