Overview
This article explains how to record a behaviour incident that involves one or more pupils.
Instructions
Follow these steps to record a behaviour incident:
Open the behaviour log
To open the behaviour log in the Juniper MIS:
- Select Pupils.
- Select Behaviours.
- Select All Behaviours.
Record the behaviour incident
- Select Create:
- From Create Behaviour:
- Select Add Pupils, then add one or more pupils the incident is being recorded for:

From 1. Select from Pupil List:
- Use the Filters / Search as needed to find the pupils that you want to record the incident for. These can be grouped by Year (default) or Class.
- Check the Year group, Class group and Pupils as appropriate. Expand the tree structure as required. If you want to record an incident for all pupils, check Select all.
- Select Continue with x pupils, where x is the number of Pupils selected.

From 2. Configure Incident Details:
- For each pupil, select a Type1 and Category1.

Select Save Details.
To change either the Type1 and Category1 in bulk, select the ellipsis to the right of each column heading, then select a bulk fill value:

Select Add Staff, then add one or more staff members involved in the incident:
- Locate the staff member(s) you want to add using the search box as required,
- Check the staff member(s) you want to add to the incident as appropriate. If you want to include all staff members, check Select all.
- Select Save x staff members, where x is the number of staff members selected.
- If displayed, select the Location2 where the incident took place.
- Select a Date when the incident took place.
- Optionally, enter a Time when the incident took place.
- Optionally, select a Time Category.
- Optionally, add any Details.
- Optionally, select a consequence from Consequences.
- Select Save.
- Select Add Pupils, then add one or more pupils the incident is being recorded for:
1 - Behaviour Types and Behaviour Categories are configured to meet your school's needs. To add / change these, speak to your school's MIS administrator.
2 - Locations can be enabled or disabled. They are configured to meet your school's needs. To add / change these, speak to your school's MIS administrator.
Outcome
The behaviour is recorded and appended to the All Behaviours list. A message confirming the behaviour has been saved is displayed:
Select the Date associated with the behavior incident to open the record so that you can view / edit it.
