Overview
This article explains how to invite a teacher (or other staff member) to use the Teacher App and other Juniper Education products. This involves sending them an invitation to register through Portal.
If a staff member has accepted an invitation for other Juniper Education products via the Portal, they can use their existing email and password to access teacher-specific content on the Teacher App. There is no need to send them an invitation.
This article assumes your staff members have been automatically imported from your school's MIS into Portal using Wonde (or similar).
Prerequisites
- You must be an administrator.
- Your school's MIS must be linked and managed through the Juniper Portal.
- The member of staff must have been added to your school's MIS.
- The staff member's details must have been sent over to Portal from your school's MIS - new staff members are sent from your school's MIS to Portal overnight.
Instructions
To send an invite to an employee to register to use the Teacher App:
- Switch to Portal (for further information, see How do I switch between Juniper apps / products?).
- Select User Invitations:
- Select Staff:
- Locate the staff members that you want to invite (their User Status will be Not Registered. Those that are Registered will already be able to access the Teacher App):
- Either check individual staff member(s) that you want to invite.
- Or check the select all check box next to Full Name, to select all staff who are not currently registered.
- Select Send Invitations:
- From the Send Invitations window:
- Select a Role for the user(s).
- Select Send.
Outcome
A message confirming the invitation has been sent to the selected user(s) is displayed:
The selected user(s) are sent an email inviting them with a link to a webpage where they accept the invitation to join:
After joining, they will be able to log in to the Teacher App. It is recommended that you select Create new account, unless advised otherwise.
A teacher has 14 days in which to sign up for the Juniper Education App after their invitation is sent from the Portal. If they don't sign up in that time, they will need to be re-invited. See Portal: How do I re-invite a staff member to register? for further information.
