Teacher App: How do I send an App Message from the Teacher App?

Overview

This article explains how you can send an App Message to pupil or staff contacts from the Juniper Education App (Teacher App) as a teacher. When sending to pupil contacts, you can choose to send the message to all contacts, parental contacts, emergency contacts or specific contacts that you choose. In addition to sending text, you can add a photograph to  

Prerequisites

  • You must have a Juniper Education account. This is your school email address and password. If you are unable to log in using the app, speak to your school's Juniper Administrator.
  • You must be logged into the Juniper Education App (Teacher App) using your school email address and password.
  • Your account must be enabled to send messages. Speak to your school's Juniper Administrator if you do not have the correct permissions. 

Instructions

Follow these four steps to send a message:

  • To send an App Message in the app:
    1. Select Hub.
    2. From the Hub, select Messages:
    3. From the list of messages that is displayed, select the plus sign:
    4. Follow the steps below to select recipients (either pupils, staff or both), compose, and send your message.
  • From Compose:
    1. Select + Add Pupil Contacts to select any pupil contacts:
    2. From 1. Select Pupils:
      1. Either Select All to select all classes / groups of pupil contacts.
      2. Or select one or more classes / groups of pupil contacts.
      3. Select Continue with the selection.
    3. Choose which pupil contacts you want to send the message to:
      1. Either Select All
      2. Select one or more contacts type from the Quick Select Options
      3. Or select a pupil to view their contact details, and select individual contacts based on your needs.
      4. Select Save Recipients.
  • From Compose:
    1. Select + Add Staff to select any members of staff:
    2. From Select recipients from staff members:
      1. Choose which staff contacts you want to send the message to, either Select All, or select staff members from the list.
      2. Select Save Recipients.
  • From Compose:

    1. Enter a Title for the message.
    2. Select one or more categories from Category.
    3. Enter the content of the Message.
    4. Optionally, attach a photo, by selecting Choose Photo. You can add a photograph using your camera or select one in the usual way you would using your mobile device.
    5. Select Send.

Outcome

A message confirming that your message is sent is displayed on the screen. The message can be seen at the top of your Messages list:
