Comms Hub: How do I add a badge?

Overview

This article explains how to award a badge to one or more pupils through Comms Hub.

You can only add a badge for a current academic year. You cannot award badges for previous academic years. 

Instructions

To save time, when working in the Comms Hub Home page / Dashboard and you have a single class assigned to you, select Class, then proceed to Step 4 of the instructions below. If you have multiple classes assigned to you, select Classes, then proceed to Step 3:

From within Comms Hub, follow these steps to add a badge for one or more pupils:

  1. Select Awards and Activities.
  2. Select Classes.
  3. Select the pupils' Class.
  4. From within the Class:
    1. Check one or more pupils to award a badge. You can select all pupils by checking the checkbox next to Name Selected.
    2. Select Award Badge.
  5. From Award Badge:
    1. Enter a Summary explaining why you are awarding the badge to the selected pupil(s).
    2. Optionally, select a Subject.
    3. Optionally, add video or photographs. You can do this by either selecting the Attach Media area then selecting your files, or by dragging and dropping one or more files onto the area from your device.

      Supported image files are PNG, JPG and GIF (up to 10MB per image). Supported video files are MP4 and MOV.

      Videos may take a minute or two to become available to parents after they are uploaded (as they are compressed by the system when uploaded). 

    4. Select the badge you want to award.
  6. Select Save.

Outcome

The badge will be added for the pupil. Depending on how your system is configured, it will either be instantly published or sent for approval, then subsequently published.
