Sonar Tracker: How do I identify opportunities to increase my GLD percentage?

Overview

This article explains how to use the Sonar Tracker: EYFS Good Level of Development Tracking Report to identify those pupils who are not on track to meet their targets in the individual subjects that make up GLD in EYFS. Each identified pupil represents an intervention opportunity which could boost the overall GLD percentage for your class or year group.

Instructions

  1. Select Reports.
  2. Select EYFS Summative GLD.
  3. When prompted, select the pupils you wish to include in the report by selecting one or more Year Groups and/or Classes then select Load Report:

Outcome

The report is displayed:

The Summative Assessment for GLD MET column indicates whether a pupil is on track for GLD. As you look through the report, identify those pupils whose Summative Assessment for GLD MET is NO.

For each of these pupil, look at the Number of Goals At ARE and the Subject Areas where they are not yet achieving the expected standard. This will help you to determine which subjects individual pupils require support with to get to the expected standard and in turn to achieve ARE.

Those pupils whose Number of Goals At ARE is either 9, 10 or 11 provide opportunities for quick wins to increase your GLD percentage. Put in place appropriate interventions for individual pupils who will benefit from the additional support.

Additionally, review pupil performance in individual Subject Areas. Identifying subjects where many pupils aren't yet working at the expected standard can highlight the need for extra subject-specific focus. It could be beneficial at a whole class level to revisit the subject material if many pupils are yet to work at the expected standard.
