Overview
This article explains how to use the Consolidation Opportunities tool in the Sonar Tracker: Primary Age Related Overview Report to quickly identify those pupils who are not on track for Combined RWM because of a shortfall in one of the three subjects.
Instructions
- Open the Primary Age Related Overview report and select the Combined Display Option. See Sonar Tracker: How do I see who is currently on track for Combined RWM? for detailed instructions about how to do this:
- Select Display Options and select Opportunities:
- The report will be updated. Under the graphical representation of the data, a new window opens called Consolidation Opportunities. Select a cell where opportunities are available to view details of the pupils who may benefit from an intervention:
Outcome
The Consolidation Opportunities tool eliminates the need to manually look through the main report name-by-name, and subject-by-subject, identifying where pupils are underachieving in one of the subjects.
When the total number is selected, the names of pupils are displayed. You can then use this information to determine where you as the teacher need to put interventions in place to provide extra support to the pupils listed.
In the example above, each column does not show the pupils' current assessment. Instead, it shows where pupils need to reach to consolidate attainment at that measure or higher. In the example above, the selected pupil is behind in Writing but is on target to achieve in Reading and Mathematics. There is a consolidation opportunity to put support in place to help the pupil reach the expected standard or higher in Writing. A successful intervention would result in the pupil achieving the expected standard in Combined RWM.
