Components are a great way to re-use content you have already added to your site elsewhere. There are Components that can be used to embed either a News/Blog Category which will output a list of articles/posts.
Pre-requisite: You will need to ensure you have previously created a News/Blog Category and created an article or post, so that you have content to embed on to the page.
Inserting the Component
- Select Components in the Edit tab:
- Select the Website Content > News Category or Website Content > Blog Category
- The Add Component window opens:
- To display a title above your component, check Include Title, and enter the title text.
- Select Browse to open a tree view of your site from which you can select the news or blog category. Select the item you would like to embed into your page, then select Select.
- Enter the number of news items / blog posts to display by entering a number in Limit.
- Optionally, change the Sort Order. By default, the news items / blog posts will be displayed in the order they were created. You can select to order them by date or alphabetically.
- Optionally, to only show news items /blog posts within a specific date range, set the Start and End date (otherwise leave them blank).
- Select OK.
Saving Your Changes
Select Save on the Edit tab and choose the desired save option:

Save & Publish
- If you see this option, you can save and publish your item immediately to make it live on the website.
- If you have purchased our School News Mobile App, Administrators or Publishers can select the option to send a notification to subscribed app users.

Save Draft
- This will allow you to save your item without publishing it, and return to continue editing via Drafts on the Home tab

Send for Approval
- This option enables you to send an item to be reviewed and approved by either an Administrator or Publisher. Once approved this item will be made live on the site.
