News/Blog Categories allow you to have multiple areas for different updates, for example, Class News, Sports News, a Headteacher Blog, or a Whole School news area.
Depending on your website design, a News Category that feeds News Stories to your homepage may have already been configured.
- Navigate to the area of your website where you would like to create a News or Blog category and you will be able to create a News Category if you have the permissions to do so.
- Select News or Blog from the Create tab. The News/Blog Category dialog window will appear.
- Enter a name for your category in the Category Name field e.g. "Latest News" or "Headteacher's Blog".
- Enter a description for your category in the Category Description field. For example "Read the latest school news here".
- Click Create to save your Category. The page will refresh and an empty News or Blog Category will be displayed.
- Now you are ready to create a new news story or blog post.
