Juniper Websites: Creating a News or Blog Category

News/Blog Categories allow you to have multiple areas for different updates, for example, Class News, Sports News, a Headteacher Blog, or a Whole School news area. 

Depending on your website design, a News Category that feeds News Stories to your homepage may have already been configured.

  1. Navigate to the area of your website where you would like to create a News or Blog category and you will be able to create a News Category if you have the permissions to do so. 
  2. Select News or Blog from the Create tab.  The News/Blog Category dialog window will appear.
  3. Enter a name for your category in the Category Name field e.g. "Latest News" or "Headteacher's Blog".
  4. Enter a description for your category in the Category Description field. For example "Read the latest school news here".
  5. Click Create to save your Category. The page will refresh and an empty News or Blog Category will be displayed.

  6. Now you are ready to create a new news story or blog post.
