Juniper Websites: Embedding the Document Component Block

Document Blocks.png

This component allows you to quickly add a document, or group of documents anywhere on a page, so that they can be downloaded by visitors, similar to the Attachments that you can add to the bottom of the page.  You can include documents from your own device, as well as ones already added to the website file manager.  You could have more than one Document Component Block on the page, to help you split files into groups, for example termly newsletters, or types of policies.

Inserting the component

Follow these steps to add a document block into your webpage:

  1. Select the content area, where you would like to insert the document block.
  2. Select the Edit tab.
  3. Select the Blocks icon:
  4. Scroll down the Blocks and select the Documents block:
  5. From the Document Block window, select the document(s) that you want to add:
    1. To add one or more documents that are saved on your device, select Upload from device and select the files you want to add to your webpage.
    2. Alternatively, select Select from File Manager and select one or more files from those that have already been uploaded, to display in your webpage.

When you add files / documents from the File Manager, be aware that the link can be shared and accessed without permission checks.

  6. Rename any file / document titles as appropriate:
  7. By default, the files / documents will be displayed in the order that they have been uploaded. If you would like to change this order:
    1. Either drag-and-drop the files / documents in the list:
    2. Or select a different Sort Order:
      1. Select Name A-Z to sort by name in alphabetic order (ascending).
      2. Select Name Z-A to sort by name in alphabetic order (descending).
  8. Select General if you'd like to include a title for the block, or if you're an FED and want to change the template to one you have uploaded:
    1. Check Include Title, then when prompted, enter the Title for the document block (this will show as a heading in your webpage):
    2. Select a Template from those available
  9. Select OK.
