Sisra Analytics: Why are some EAP grades missing in reports? (Admin)

The content of this article only applies to EAPs created using KS2 Scaled Scores as their baselines.

This article explains why some students do not have an EAP grade in reports and provides options for fixing the problem.

Why this happens

This occurs because the DfE changed its rules after Summer 2022, whereby Scaled Scores are no longer rounded to the nearest whole number for prior attainment. Some EAP grades are missing because the KS2 Scaled Score average includes a .5, for example, 111.5, and your current EAP setup doesn’t support decimal baselines.

If a student has a Maths Scaled Score of 113 and an English Scaled Score of 110, for example, they have an average score of 111.5. Under previous rules, this would be rounded to 112 for KS2 Prior Attainment and the EAP pathway. Under the Summer 2022 rules, it remains 111.5.

If your EAPs were created before Summer 2022 (or copied from another EAP created before then) and are using the average of your Scaled Scores as the EAP baseline, there will only be pathways for the whole-number Scaled Score average baseline.

If your EAP only contains pathways for whole numbers, any students with .5 average baselines will not have an EAP grade in the report, as there is no suitable pathway for them:

How to fix it

Select one of the two options below to resolve the problem:

  • Create EAPs using Target grades as baselines instead of KS2 data.

For information about how to set up target-based EAPs, see Sisra Analytics: How do I create Target-based EAPs? (Admin).

  •
    1. Re-create any EAPs that use the average of your Scaled Scores as the EAP baseline.

When creating these new EAPs, don't copy from any pre-existing Scaled Scores EAPs, as these will be using the previous whole-number Scaled Scores rows. Select the Create New EAP option.

For information about how to create EAPs, see Sisra Analytics: How do I create an EAP? (Admin)..

    2. When new EAPs are created using Scaled Scores, Analytics will create the additional pathways for the .5 average baselines.

Fill out the EAP pathways for these baselines, as shown:

For information about filling in EAP pathways, see Sisra Analytics: KS3/4 - Editing and Defining EAP Pathways (Admin).

    3. Republish your data by selecting Publish KS2/EAP from KS2 / EAP.
    4. Assign your new EAPs to your qualifications:
      1. Select Grades.
      2. Select Matching.
      3. Select Edit.
      4. Assign your EAPs to your qualifications.
      5. Select Save Changes
    5. Republish your reports by selecting Publish Grades from Grades. After your reports are republished, all students with KS2 data have EAP grades in the reports.
