Sisra Analytics: How do I create an EAP in KS3/4 for a qualification awarded no points? (Admin)

Overview

This article explains how to create an EAP for a KS3/4 qualification that is not awarded points. When creating an EAP for a qualification not officially awarded points:

  • Select a grade method without points across each year between Y7 and Y11
  • For the Final Exam Grades term, select a grade method using Attainment 8 points.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an administrator.

Instructions

To create an EAP for a KS3/4 qualification that is not awarded points:

  •
    1. Select CONFIG.
    2. Select Grade Methods > KS3/4 Methods.
    3. To create a new grade method for qualifications without grades, select Create KS3/4 Grade Method:
    4. From the Step 1 of 3 - Set up Grades Method window:
      1. Enter a Method Name.
      2. Check Attainment 8 for Points
      3. Check No for Subgrades.
      4. Select Next.
    5. From the Step 2 of 3 - Define Whole Grades window:
      1. Enter your Whole Grades from the highest value to the lowest value.
      2. Enter the points when doing this:
        1. Either include a dummy grade that contains 1 point in your method that won’t be used, for example, on N/A grade. Give all of the other grades 0 points - these are the grades that will be selected. The grade won't be uploaded for any student, but it will appear as a column in the Overview reports:
        2. Or give one grade the points of 0.001, and the others 0 points. Points are displayed to 2 decimal places in the reports, meaning the actual points will display as 0:
      3. For each Whole Grade, enter the number of Entries you want the judgment to be worth.
    6. Select Next.
    7. From the Step 3 of 3 - Confirmation window select Finish.
  • Follow the steps listed in Sisra Analytics: KS3/4 - How do I create an EAP? (Admin).
  • After the Grade Method and the EAP are ready, the Matching page can be completed. The KS4 MEASURE column of the Matching page must be set to Unapproved either by setting this manually. This ensures the student entries for these qualifications do not count towards school performance, in line with DfE guidance. An example for Entry Level English is shown below:

If Use QN is enabled, type Unapproved [Subject] in the QN Title column, for example, Unapproved English and Unapproved Religious Studies, to match them. This ensures your Data Collaboration setup can be completed if you opt in.

  • These qualifications will impact your residuals; however, use the Residual Exclusion option in your reports to view residuals without these qualifications included.
    • Open your Report.
    • Select the Residual Exclusion tab.
    • Select Add/Remove Exclusion to add an exclusion:

    • Check the Exclude column for the qualification you want to exclude.
    • Select Apply.

Outcome

The EAP for the qualification that is not awarded points is created and mapped to the qualification you selected.
