Juniper Websites: Authorising Access to Instagram

In this article, we'll guide you on how to share your school's social media posts such as Instagram on your website's homepage feed. This is a great way to keep parents engaged and informed about school news and updates.

  1. You must be a website administrator.
  2. You will need the account details (account name and password) for your school's Facebook account that is linked to your Instagram profile (due to Meta's system structure).
  3. Your Juniper Website must support adding social media newsfeeds. To confirm this, navigate to your website's home page and scroll down to the newsfeed section. Look for one of the following buttons:
  4. If one of these buttons (or a similar one) is on your homepage, the feature is available. 

Authorising access to Instagram

If you have disassociated your Instagram account from your website or have never authorised access to Instagram before, you can re-authorise/authorise access by following the steps below:

  1. Navigate to your website's home page. 
  2. Scroll through the home page, locate and select the Instagram button next to your newsfeed.
  3. Select Log in via Facebook from the Instagram Link window:
  4. When prompted, enter your Facebook account Email address or phone number and Password, and select Log in:
  5. Follow the prompts provided to select your Instagram account.

    If you are already logged into this account, you may be asked to confirm that you would like to proceed.

A green box informs you that your website is authorised to access your Instagram content. Your newsfeed will be populated with content from your Instagram.

If you want to revoke authorisation, select Disassociate with Instagram from this window.
