Juniper Websites: PHP Security Issue and Your Juniper Website

Juniper Websites

Following recent BBC coverage of a global security issue involving PHP, we understand that schools want to know whether their websites are affected and whether they should take them offline.

Our technical teams are responding to the issue and working on the parts of our website services that use PHP.

What has happened?

PHP is software used to run parts of many websites and online services. A critical security issue has been identified, and security updates have been released to address it.

How does this affect my Juniper website?

Some supporting services within Juniper Websites use PHP. This includes Visitor Analytics and Video Processing services.

What action is Juniper taking?

Both of these services have been protected with suitable patches and application firewalls. We do not believe that either of these new measures will cause disruption to your existing services, and our technical teams are monitoring both components for any issues that may arise.

Does my website need to be taken offline?

We are not advising you to take your Juniper-hosted website offline at this time. Our technical team has assessed the relevant services and confirmed that the protections currently in place allow your website to remain online while the remaining security updates are completed.

Do I need to make any changes?

You do not need to make any technical changes to your Juniper-hosted website. We are managing the necessary work on the services we provide.

If we need you to take any action, we will contact you directly.

Where can I get an update?

Follow our Juniper Websites' Status Updates page for further updates.

Further information about the wider issue is available from the National Cyber Security Centre.
