Comms Hub, Juniper Education App
Overview
This article explains how to create an App Report in Comms Hub to view parental engagement with the Juniper Education App for selected pupils. The report shows each pupil's device type, last visited date and access status, and flags any pupils who are leavers.
Using the information in this report, you can:
- Identify parents who have not yet registered for or opened the Juniper Education App.
- Spot families whose engagement has dropped off.
- Target communication at specific pupil groups, for example FSM, SEN or Pupil Premium.
- Evidence engagement levels for inspections or governors.
Prerequisites
- To view engagement data at a whole school level, you must have Full edit permission or above. Users with Partial edit permission can only see engagement data for their own groups, not the whole school.
Instructions
Follow these steps to create an App Report:
- Open Comms Hub if it is not already open (see Comms Hub: How do I log on to Comms Hub? for further guidance).
- Select Reports.
-
From the table, select Create on the App Report row:
-
From Create App Report - Step 1 Select Pupils, check the names of the pupils you want to include in the report, or check the box above the list to select all pupils:
Select Filter to filter pupils, then select a Category and Type, or check FSM, SEN or PP, to narrow down the pupils you include in the report.
- Select Next.
-
From Create App Report - Step 2 Generate, review the generated report. This shows the pupil name, parent name, device type, last visited date and status for each selected pupil:
To download a copy of the report, select Export, then select Export as Excel or Export as PDF, to download.
- Select Save to save the report.
Outcome
The App Report is generated and saved, and appears in the list of App Reports. A message appears confirming that the report has been saved.
Select the report to view it:
After a report has been created and saved, you can open it at any time without needing to run it again, by Selecting Reports / App Reports and then selecting your report.
Any leavers are flagged in the report.
The content of a report is static and does not update automatically. You must generate a new report to see the latest levels of engagement with the Juniper Education App.
From the Reports / App Reports view, for any report, select Actions to Rename or Delete the report.
Understanding parents listed and Status categories
A pupil can have multiple parents who engage with the Juniper Education App. Each of these parents is listed in the report against the pupil's name. A parent can be listed next to multiple pupils.
Each parent contact in the report is placed into one of three categories, based on their engagement with the app for their child:
| Status category | Description |
| Active | The contact has opened the Juniper Education App within the last seven days. |
| Inactive | The contact registered but has not opened the Juniper Education App for more than seven days. |
| Not accessed | The contact was invited but never registered, or registered but has never opened the Juniper Education App. |
