MIS: How do I add a contact to a staff member's record?

Overview

This article explains how to add a contact to a staff record in Juniper MIS. The contact can be either new or existing. After adding a contact, you may want to add more details about the contact that have not been initially captured (for further information, see MIS: How do I edit / update a contact's details from a staff record? or MIS: How do I edit / update a contact's details?).

Instructions

Follow these steps to add a contact to a staff record:

  1. Select Staff.
  2. Select All Staff.
  3. Find the member of staff you want to add a contact to (use the search bar or filters to speed up this process as appropriate):
  4. Select the staff member's name to open their record:
  5. From the staff record, select the Contacts tab:
  6. From the Contacts tab, select Add New:
  7. From Create New Contact, either:
    1. Select an existing contact (Link Existing Contact), then continue to Step 8.
    2. Or, complete the contact details:
      1. Enter the contact's Forename.
      2. Enter the contact's Surname.
      3. Optionally, enter the contact's telephone number (Phone), email address (Email), first line of address (Address Line) and Postcode.
  8. Select a Relationship:
  9. As appropriate, check Emergency Contact:

  10. Select Save.

Outcome

The contact is assigned to the pupil. Where a new contact has been entered, their details are saved in the MIS. You are returned to the Contacts tab where the new contact is listed:

You can reorder the order in which contacts are contacted, by selecting Reorder, then use the up and down arrows to reorder the list,before you Save it.
