Manually decline a pupil's trip invite

Overview

This article explains how to manually decline a trip invitation for a pupil on a parent's behalf (who does not use the Juniper Education App). Use this method, for example, to update your trip records when a parent has informed the school office that their child will not be going on a trip, after being invited.

Open a trip

Follow these steps to open a published trip:

  1. Open Events.
  2. Select Trips.
  3. From All Trips, locate the trip.
  4. Select the Trip to open it:

Decline a pupil's invitation

Follow these steps to decline an invitation on behalf of the parents:

  1. Open the trip if it is not already open.
  2. Select the Pupils & Contacts tab.
  3. Locate the pupil in the list of pupils.
  4. Select the ellipsis in the Pupil Status column next to the Invited status, on the row with the pupil's name:

  5. Select Decline:

  6. When prompted, select Decline to confirm:

    If the parent changes their mind at a later date, this action can be reversed, and the pupil can be enrolled on the trip.

    A confirmation of the change is displayed. The pupil's Pupil Status is updated to Declined:

Tips and best practices

  1. Enter the name of a pupil into the search bar to quickly locate them, ready to decline the invitation to a trip.
  2. Use filters to reduce the number of pupils displayed, and thus speed up pupil selection.
