People First: How do I extend an employee's probation period?

This article is for People First HR users only.

This article explains how to extend an employee's probation period. To do this, you will need to ammend the end date in their Terms & Conditions.

Instructions

Follow these steps to extend an employee's probation period:

  1. Locate and open the employee's profile for the employee whose probation period you want to extend. To find their profile, use the Search feature or the Org chart.
  2. The employee's Profile opens on the Personal Employment tab. If the employee is assigned to more than one Job on joining, select View Job to open the details for their primary Job where their probation period was added.
  3. Scroll down to the Terms & Conditions card:

  4. Select the Probationary period text.
  5. From the Probationary period details:

    1. Enter or select the date that the probation period started.
    2. Select Add New.
  6. When prompted:

    1. Enter the new End date.
    2. Update the Reason to Extension (as applicable).
    3. Optionally:

      1. Select Note detailing the reason for extended the End date.
      2. Select Attachment and upload any related documents.

      If you do either of these, if you want to make these visible to the employee, ensure Visible to employee is checked. To hide these from the employee, ensure Visible to employee is unchecked.

    4. Select Save.

Outcome

The probation period is updated with the new end date. A notification is displayed confirming this:

The employees Terms and Conditions are updated to reflect the new probation end date:
