Sonar Tracker
Overview
This article explains how to export data from Sonar Tracker for analysis in applications, for example, Microsoft Excel. It guides you through using the Pupil Data Export Wizard to select pupil groups, characteristics, assessment periods, subjects, and assessment types, then export your data as a CSV file.
If you have migrated to Sonar Tracker from OTrack or Target Tracker and used reports that are not available in Sonar Tracker, use the Pupil Data Export Wizard to create your own CSV file so that you can curate, compare and analyse specific data based on your school's needs.

Outcome
A message explains that your export has been queued:
The CSV file will be generated.
Select Back to School Page to exit.
You will receive a message in your Sonar Tracker Inbox with a download link when the file is available.
The amount of time that the file takes to generate is dependent upon the amount of data you are exporting. Generally, this takes about 30 seconds, but it may take a few minutes.
An example of the message is as follows:
Select the CSV file name to download a copy to your device. This can then be manipulated in a spreadsheet (for example, Microsoft Excel) and used for multiple purposes:
- To create a report that is formatted based on your specific needs to simplify analysis.
- To share specific data with governors.
- Passed onto another school as appropriate, for example, when pupils leave.
