Overview
This article explains how to track the performance of persistent absentees over time, using the Primary Flight Path Report in Sonar Tracker. Using filters you can view pupils who are, for example:
- Severely Absent - those whose absence for the current academic year is over 50% / attendance is less than 50%.
- Persistently Absent - those whose absence for the current academic year is between 10% and 50% / attendance is between 50% and 90%
- Approaching Persistently Absent - those whose absence for the current academic year is between 5% and 10% / attendance is below 90% to 95%
Instructions
Follow these steps to track the performance of persistent absentees over time:
- Select Reports.
- Select Primary Flight Path Report.
- From Select Pupils:
- Select one or more Year Groups, or Classes.
- Select Load Report to open the Primary Flight Path Report for the Year Group(s) or Class(es) selected for Reading:
- Select the Subject:
- Select Filters to view the filters:
- Select an Attendance range using the sliders:
- For Severely Absent - set the lower absence value to 0% and the upper value to 50%.
- For Persistently Absent - set the lower absence value to 50.1% and the upper value to 90%.
- For Approaching Persistently Absent - set the lower absence value to 90.1% and the upper value to 95%.
- Or select another range of your choice.
- Select Apply Filters.
- Select an Attendance range using the sliders:
Outcome
The report updates automatically based on your filter selection. You can see the performance of the selected pupils based on the amount of time that they attend school.
