Juniper Websites: How do I create a menu link to an external website?

Overview

This article explains how to create a link within your Juniper Website's menu to a page on a different website using a URL (website address).

Instructions

  1. Navigate to the area of the website where you would like to create the external menu link.
  2. Select the Create tab.
  3. Select the Link icon to open the Link window:
  4. Enter a title for your link in the Link Text field.  This is the text which will appear in your menu.
  5. Enter the URL for the external link in Link Address.
  6. Select where you would like the link to open in Open Link In:

    • New Window - Opens the link in a new tab on your browser.
    • Embedded within the current page - Embeds the link in the current page. This will not function if the link is added to the top-level menu.
    • Open in the current window -  Opens the link in your current tab, moving the user away from the website containing the link.

For external website links, it's recommended that New Window is set as the target.  This will ensure you are not encouraging your visitors to move away from your website.

  7. Select Create to close the Link window, and create the link.

Outcome

The external webpage link is created in your menu.
