Juniper Websites: How do I reset a user's password (legacy user management)?

Overview

This article explains how you can reset a user's password for them (if you are using the legacy way to log in to Juniper Websites).

If the user is in the same room as you are, you may prefer to let them type in their new password in Step 5 below.

If you are accessing Juniper Websites through Portal (JoinUp), the user should reset their own password. See Juniper Websites: How do I reset my password? for further information.

Prerequisites

You must be an Administrator to reset a user's password.

Instructions

An administrator can also set a temporary password for a user by following the steps below:

  1. Select User Manager from the Home tab:
  2. Search for the user within the User Manager search box or by role:
  3. Locate and select the user's name from the list:
  4. Select Edit:
  5. Enter a temporary password in the New Password, re-type it and make sure User can change password is checked:

New user passwords are automatically checked against known data-breach databases (via Have I Been Pwned) during setup. Where a password has been previously exposed in public data breach, it is blocked from use.

Administrator passwords must be a minimum of 16 characters in length.

Passwords for users with all other roles must be at least 8 characters long.

  6. Select Choose roles.
  7. Select Save Changes.

Outcome

The user's password will be reset to the new one that you have entered.
