Overview
This article explains how to link a grid box to a document (or other file type). This is particularly useful when you want to create a page comprising a series of links to documents stored in File Manager, for example, a policies page with links to different policy documents.
Prerequisites
- Your website template must allow you to change page layouts on a page-by-page basis.
- You have created a page and changed its layout to Grid Only or Grid and Content.

Instructions
- Navigate to the page where you want to create your grid box link (whose layout is Grid Only or Grid and Content).
- Select the Create tab.
- Select Link:
The Link window is displayed: - In Link Text, enter a description for the file that you want to link to.
- Select Browse Server to open the File Manager window.
- Either select the file that you want to link to, or upload a file:
Following selection, the File Manager closes, and the Link window re-opens: - Select where you want the link to open from Open Link In. By default, this is set so that the file will open in a new window.
- Select Create. The grid box is now displayed:
- To add a background image instead of the default image, roll over the grid box and select the image icon:
- When prompted, select the image icon:
- From the File Manager window either locate and select an image to use, or upload a new image from your device:
- Crop and edit the image as appropriate when prompted:
- Select OK to preview your grid box link:
- Select Save. A message is displayed confirming the image has been successfully saved.
Repeat the above steps multiple times to add more than one grid box link to your page.
Outcome
Your grid box is now linked to the document you selected:
