Juniper Websites: Using Page Layout and Grid Navigation Options

Overview

Depending on how your website has been configured you may have the option to change the page layouts on a page-by-page basis. There are several ways that this could have been implemented on your site. Some of the most common ways can be explored by selecting the three tabs below:

If this option has been enabled on your site, Layout Options will be visible in the Edit toolbar:
1. Select Layout Options at the far end of the toolbar (you may need to use the arrow to scroll across) to open the Layout Options window:
2. Select the layout from the list of options. Each layout will affect how the content and navigation appear on the current page:
  1. Default - This is the default page layout. You will have a content area and the navigation links will appear on the side.
  2. Grid and Content - This option still displays the content area, at the top of the page, but moves the navigation links below the content in a grid layout.
  3. Grid Only - This layout removes the content area from the page, leaving only the navigation links in a grid layout. If you have added content to the page, this will not be lost when you change the page layout, switching back to an option that includes content will display any previous information you had added.
  4. Content Only - This option centres the main content and removes navigation links. Only select this option if there are no pages under this area, as it may make site navigation confusing.
  5. Staff List - This option will output the Custo m Staff Profiles onto this page.
3. If you choose one of the Grid options your navigation links will include an image. To edit the image, select the edit icon in the corner of the grid block:
4. Select the image area in the Choose grid image for... window to access the File Manager:
5. Select an image from the File Manager to use. If the image or folder does not exist, you can create folders and upload files as needed to the File Manager.
6. Crop the image to fit the grid area as appropriate. Use the toolbar at the bottom left to rotate and zoom, or click the image to drag the image into the correct position:
7. Select Crop.
8. Select Save.
If this option has been enabled on your site a Page and Grid Options tooltip will be displayed at either the bottom of the page or near the slideshow at the top of your site:
1. Select Page and Grid Options to open the Layout Options window:

Bespoke functionality may have been added to your site using Custom Fields when you initially designed your website. You may be able to set Grid Navigation Options, or choose to make your page into a Custom Staff Page. If your site includes this functionality, you will find it under the Page Edit toolbar, in Custom Fields.

After selecting the layout you require you will need to save the new settings.
